The Story Behind JP Designs

 Hi, I'm Jennifer Proctor, Principal Interior Designer and Owner of JP Designs!!

My passion for interior design began long before I earned my Bachelor of Interior Design degree. In 2009, while building my own home in Calgary, I became immersed in every aspect of the design process, from redesigning layouts and customizing spaces to selecting finishes and planning every detail. It was then that I realized interior design wasn't just something I enjoyed, it was what I wanted to do.

After several years working in Calgary's oil and gas industry, I decided to follow that passion. In 2017, I returned to school full-time to earn my Bachelor of Interior Design and later became a LEED Green Associate.

In 2020, I moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I founded JP Designs and began helping homeowners, builders, and businesses bring their visions to life through thoughtful interior design, detailed construction drawings, finish selections, and realistic 3D renderings.

 Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, I always knew the Prairies would bring me home. After establishing JP Designs in Halifax in 2020, I returned to Winnipeg in December 2025 to be closer to family and continue growing my business. Today, I proudly serve clients throughout Manitoba while continuing to work with clients virtually in Nova Scotia and across Canada.

I believe great design is about more than beautiful finishes, it's about creating spaces that are functional, timeless, and uniquely yours.
